More About Me

My Work Self

I’m Tierra Nelson, a Sr. UI/UX Designer with a dedicated history of creating strategic and meaningful user experiences. Driven by a passion for helping and impacting the community, I use my diverse skillset and fluid knowledge to design solutions that are accessible, inclusive, and sustainable.

My Real-Life Self

I’m all about supporting minority-owned businesses through freelance branding and photography projects, and volunteering as a UI/UX judge for student competitions. When I’m not designing, I’m a huge sci-fi buff, biking, or on a quest to find the ultimate plate or chilaquiles or a chimichanga while exploring new travel spots!

My Past Self

I had my first unpaid gig working for my grandparents’ cleaning business, and now know how to vacuum immaculate patterns into carpets. Before that, I spent time exploring my neighborhood by jumping through fences (yes, I got stuck once — scar to prove it!). Somehow, I always knew my way back home and never got lost in the wilderness.

My Future Self

I see myself as either a tree lady (horticulturist) with long white dreadlocks or a seasoned food critic, surrounded by talented peeps who just want to leave the world better than they found it. If I can do all that in a perfect 75˚F climate all year long, I’m golden.

Thanks for stopping by!
